Yes, we could be content with a seven-year run of blogging and let this little corner of the Internet serve as our museum. But what fun are museums? Well, lots, but unfortunately for you, Cool Reader, I’m far from zipping it.
So with tongue firmly planted in cheek, so starts a new kind of adventure for the Cool Fam: a quest! Watch this to find out for what.
After we planned our trip to Indianapolis, I found out that one of my favorite new bands, Lucius, was playing a couple of hours south in New Albany, IN. Given that last year’s 13-hour drive to Indy was sparked by the chance to see and interview Eisley, this quick jaunt was a no-brainer. A couple of weekends ago, I played a show in Astoria, Queens with my friends Abby and Marissa. I’d love to play out more in NYC, but I want to perform original music. However, we hadn’t written enough songs to fill the 45-minute set, so they picked out some covers.
I’ll be honest, when they suggested that we do “Baby, Baby” by Amy Grant, I flinched. It’s a catchy, well-written pop song that I’m sure earned Ms. Grant lots of money. I knew Abby and Marissa would do a great job on it and make it fun for the audience. Continue reading →
