Inspired by the Olympic Summer Games in London (USA! USA!), we just couldn’t resist the Are You Fitter Than a Fifth Grader? challenge in Foley Square by the Brooklyn Bridge. The setup was part of Summer Streets, where the city closes Park Ave. from 72nd Street to Brooklyn Bridge for pedestrians, bikers, skaters, unicyclists, and crab walkers to pound nearly seven miles of pavement.
Here’s the video of us trying to live up to the physiques of 10-year-olds.
In the end, Cool Mum got about 50th percentile on three of her five events, so using the scientific equation [3/5 X 5th grade = 3] must mean that she’s about as fit as a 3rd grader. I went five for six, so [5/6 X 5th grade = 4.16] says I’m slightly fitter than your typical 4th grader.
And to answer the obvious question: Yes, I’ve considered entering Decathlon for the Brazil 2016 Games. Until then, I’ll be dominating some Field Days around the area.

Hoot hoot! My boy E-Z E representing WGW! Wauchula-Gainesville Wallyball has never been more proud! Have you been playing recently, because that vertical test got smashed!
I feel your pain in the flexibility test. Laura would have been asking me if I was serious too! (Cold, that was so cold.) We want to know cool Uncle’s results too. Yeah, we saw him hiding in the background.
