I was also heavily pregnant on my 30th birthday and can’t even remember the day its self. So I agree, do something different, and then you’ll always have the memories. Something is better than nothing!

We’re there on a Wednesday. We’ll have to visit your church with the Aussie pastor another time (Side note : have you heard Hillsong are planting in NYC this year…that should be interesting for the city!!)

All the other ideas sound great too, and they things we haven’t done, though we kinda did our own Village food tour when we were last there back in 07 as we are foodies through and through.

hey, maybe i could get cool dad to the tenement museum if you were going to be there! if you’re here on a sunday, you could experience church in the city, which is very interesting and different. (our pastor is australian, btw) for a romantic time with your wife, i will highly recommend the rowboats in central park if you haven’t done it. also, a food tour in greenwich village would be fun.

I hope so!

Though as we’re moving from Australia to Ireland, and visiting the US, all within a 6 week period starting in 3 weeks time…the major foreign travel might just be a visit back to Australia again.

With Europe on our doorstep, we plan to be doing lots of foreign travel

(Btw, we’re going to be in NYC for a day in June…what would you recommend we do?? Noting I’ve done WTC both pre & post, and the Museum of C of NY. Tenement Museum sounds v.cool!)

Which leads to a tougher question…what are you supposed to do on your 40th birthday!? I’m thinking that merits some major foreign travel.

My husband surprised me by flying two of my best friends in town (the three of us hadn’t been together in almost three years.) He planned the entire weekend, had a chef come to our house to teach us about cooking a meal and had a big dinner with our families and some other friends. The entire thing was completely planned out and perfect. No complaints from my side but might be a bit bigger than you are thinking! I’m with you though that I wouldn’t want to be the center of everything! Happy 30th!

Thanks Babita! It makes me feel better that you don’t know what 20-somethings do either! Maybe they get piercings or tattoos? Well, I already looked up the eyebrow ring option and it’s not really recommended for people who are pregnant…bummer (CD was way against that idea anyway =)
