To specify my list:

-small
-32
-slow
-unable to effectively throw or catch
-general unusefulness on the football field

I think that about covers it!

I don't think you can use being small and 32 as factors working against you :P My boyfriend is small and 33, his flag football team is undefeated this season. Being small is usually an advantage because he's fast.

Well, at least you had the one high.
I've played football exactly 3 times in my lifetime (Jr. High P.E. and 2 "PowderPuff" games in high school). And I've broken exactly 2 bones (fingers) in my lifetime: both while playing football. So I've hung up my "cleats", as well.

Wow! I never knew how the legend began.

I don't know if it's any better to grow up playing football, to be pretty fast as a youngster (the most important quality for football at ages < 10), and then see your "glory" fade. I was pretty fast as a child - say until grade 8 when actual athletes begin to emerge. Then as I lost ground in the quest for speed, my large frame (which seems to have maxed out at 145lbs in 10th grade) became a real handicap. If you think small is bad, try thin, slow, and cocky - from my glory days in elementary school.
