[UPDATE: Several bugs (in my brain) kept the video from working. It works now!]
You are cordially invited to take a tour of our luxurious and spacious home on the Upper East Side of New York City! Our ground floor apartment is a little low on lighting, both natural and electrical, so it’s a little dark – sorry about that. Just be sure to stay close to your guide or you may get lost! I want to see the new place.
Hmm, maybe something can be arranged.
wow, that’s even tinier than our studio! congrats on the (i’m hoping) upgrade!
i’m super impressed that you live in a studio…and you’re in fl, right? we have upgraded thanks to rent falling here. it’s still technically a studio, but it has a separate bedroom with a door!
wow a bedroom door! what a luxury!
yea, we’re in fl and i actually love our studio. of course the baby stuff hasn’t all come in… we’re gonna have to get really creative when that happens. but overall it’s less to clean and keep up with. and it helps me not be a pack rat. we live simply, and i like that. low rent and electric bills don’t hurt either…
sounds like you’re our kind of family! i didn’t even know what studio apts were when we lived in FL.
you can do it, rose! yay on all accounts!
i’m so glad you documented it. i look foward to seeing the new place also!
several people are asking. unfortunately, it’s not as tiny and funny. or i guess, make that ‘fortunately.’
very cool, cool mum & dad! Thanks for the tour.
No prob
O.M.G!!!!! How did you guys do it??? I’m speechless, just speechless! There’s no hope for us. LOL!
It was actually quite simple.
We HAD to live in Manhattan. This was like the only place we could afford in the neighborhood we wanted.
And we signed the lease.
Actually, rents are amazingly low right now (for NYC). Come on over – even if only for a little while, you’ll never forget (or likely regret) it!
i think the key was living larger portions of our lives outside of the apartment. why would you want to be in the apartment when nyc is just outside your door anyway? i have to admit this was a little more difficult when the weather was in the teens though. brrrr we did pop our drug of choice (various forms of chocolate) to get us through the frustrating times.
This is so amazing! I love the guided tour, you guys are really creative with space. I want a tour of the new digs soon!
Heym Ashley! Our creative space-making is all due to CM.
So, I’m late to comment here, and I’m laughing – the whole time I was watching, I was thinking, “Wow! You’ve really come a long way from not telling us your name. Now you’re showing us your address and your apartment?!?” And then you said you’re moving. Aha!
So, how about your new place? Is it a bit bigger?
I will say that the good thing about a small home (although, I will freely admit, mine is not as small as yours!) is that it takes less time to clean!
The new place is a bit bigger, yes. Its bigness will be revealed in the much-demanded tour of the new place.
It’s still amazing how messy the Cool Studio got. I’d like to think that CB was more responsible for that than we were.
I have an insane fascination with NYC (you guys are living my dream), so I totally enjoyed this!
I’m curious if living in the cool studio changed your cooking habits much – doesn’t look like there’s a whole lot of room to cook in the kitchen…
It totally did. Sounds like a good topic for a post coming up… Thanks!
Also – how can we get you to live your dream? As I told Polina a few comments up – rent is rock-bottom low right now (for Manhattan).
CM and CD: You are great! We are thankful for your wonderful hospitality. You should have mentioned that your guests easily and comfortably slept in the diningroom/office/den/ and their bags easily fit in the garage!…It was a Blast! Send hugs to CB!
