U2: Simply magnificent on Letterman

We don’t often post YouTube videos on this blog. So when we do, it’s something special, right?

U2 spent last week in New York (and we only got to see them once!) and performed on Late Show with David Letterman every night. On Tuesday, they performed “Magnificent”, the second track from their new album No Line On The Horizon.

With lyrics like these, this song is just the most rocking worship song I’ve heard… well, ever?

I was born
I was born to sing for you
I didn’t have a choice but to lift you up
And sing whatever song you wanted me to
I give you back my voice
From the womb my first cry, it was a joyful noise…

Like Brant put so well, U2′s music is as “Christian” as anything you hear between 87 and 92 mHz on your radio dial.
