How well can you resist temptation?

I’m living the wild bachelor lifestyle this week. You know, working, coming home, working more, going to bed, waking up early to work, and then going to work. As Fergie would say, G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S. Actually, she might correct herself to the more concise L-A-M-E.

So as I sat tonight with some free time, my mind veered toward one thought: sweets. I tried to get it out of my head, not because I’m on a diet or anything, but because I was too lazy to take a walk. However, the thought of chocolatey, sweet, possibly-baked goodness was overwhelming.

I hit the nearest supermarket and came away with on-sale Breyer’s ice cream. I feel content after a few tiny bowls of Neapolitan. However, I’m disappointed that I couldn’t fight the temptation off. I don’t HAVE to be controlled by my stomach. Well, there’s always next time.

How well can you resist when temptation calls?

I am not good at resisting at all. Something that helps when I crave sweets, though, is chewing gum. Maybe you could try that?

Although, no gum could stand against the yummy oreos in that picture! :)

My willpower stands a better chance of holding up when I’m in a habit of it. i.e., if I resisted the donut at breakfast, I can resist the cookie after lunch, and the chips at snack time and the ice cream after dessert. On the other hand, if I have the donut at breakfast, I am far more likely to also have the cookie, chips and ice cream. I’m kind of an all-or-nothing girl.
