After nearly two years of alligator wrestling matches at nearly every diaper change, the boy did this without any prompting from me:
1. Retrieved diapers and package of wipes from the diaper bag.
2. Placed them in the spot that I usually change him in, nicely arranged.
3. Politely called me into that room.
4. Upon entering, he immediately assumed the lying down position and passed me a diaper that was next to him.
5. Remained perfectly still and silent, perhaps even smiling, during the process.
I was floored. Now I know, the trick is to wait 10 hours between diaper changes.
KIDDING! I had just changed his diaper about 45 minutes earlier, but it was indeed wet.
Truly a miracle.
hmmmm….wonder if some cool baby is ready for potty training???
Wow. Jealous, I am! We have a lot of diaper changing wrestling matches – you’d think it was pure torture instead of basic hygience and childcare…
Aww, so cute and very helpful! Hey, I was watching Celebrity Apprentice last night, and they were taping a scene with a mother and toddler. The little guy had brown curly hair and I wondered if it could possibly be Cool Baby? Couldn’t really get a good look at him. But I suppose you would have blogged about that cool event. Speaking of the Apprentice… have you seen The Donald around town?
tam–well we started letting him experiment a few weeks ago. there have been about 3 successes and a lot of false alarms or refusals to sit on the thing. i have no idea what i’m doing, so any advice would be welcome!
mary–yeah, i’ll never understand why they think it’s so awful.
