Sesame Street was a huge part of my childhood, and I am just now getting to watch more of it because of Cool Baby. Some of my life’s mysteries are being solved upon this return to the Street. Perhaps all of my life has been spent trying to figure out how to get to Sesame Street.
Mystery 1: A strangely warm, comforting feeling inside whenever I hear women with Puerto Rican accents.
Solution: Maria is of Puerto Rican descent! Of course!
Mystery 2: An irresistible fascination with all things New York.
Solution: Have you seen the set? Didn’t even realize the connection until I moved here. Not to mention, we live a couple of miles from where the show is taped. I’m starting to think I’ve been brainwashed…
Mystery 3: Falling in love with a guy who really…and I mean REALLY…loves chocolate chip cookies.
Solution: The Cool ‘Rents’ wedding photo.

Oh Sesame Street. I owe a lot to that show. That was the main show I watched as a toddler so I could learn English!
my little sisters loved to watch fraggle rock. the best thing about that show was the theme song.
yep. if youre remembering it now, i bet it’ll be stuck in your head the rest of the day…
“chase your cares away *clap-clap*
worries for anuuuuther daay’ay’ay…”
youre welcome.
raq – that’s awesome. i guess it helped me learn English, too!
tam – argh! thanks a lot!
Down in Fraggle Rock! I loved that show, too!
Did you know you can buy old episodes of Sesame Street on DVD? I thought about getting them for Photobaby for Christmas this year.
Funny you say that about the street. I briefly worked in a building that was on a street that really reminded me of Sesame Street. That and the cookies from the cafe next door were about the best thing about the job…
wv: missn. I be missn Cool Chats.
raquel–wow, that’s cool!
tam–oh yes i did love fraggle rock…my parents have a story they tell constantly about how i used to race around in circles as a toddler whenever i heard that song. i also remember how extremely disappointing it was when they turned it into a cartoon!
pq–i definitely want to do that! the classics…
