It’s different each time. A lot of times it only takes about 20 minutes, but the last post I did took 3 days, because I couldn’t think of three more things to finish out the list of ten.

I am that person that just writes and whatever comes out is what you get. Sometimes the post makes sense and sometimes it doesn’t. I am pretty sure I have never had a post without some sort of spelling or grammar error.

(Did you spell “purfect” wrong on purpose, or was it just that perfect?)

Each day is different and I can’t really come up with an average at the moment. It seems like the deeper, more emo posts can take a couple hours or I’ll work on it here or there over a period of time just to get all the right words and thoughts to make sense. But there are days when I sit down and type out something I’m comfortable with in 5 minutes. I’m trying hard to never regret anything I say on my blog, so I’d rather take my time and pray about what I’m writing.

I usually take about an hour or so, but that’s only counting research, writing and editing. It’s not counting the many hours I spend thinking of topics or reacting to everyday life with the automatic, “I should blog about that.”

Occasionally, I should spend more time. Because more than once I’ve re-read a post and realized I made a grammar mistake or just didn’t write it as well as I could have. In those cases, I edit. I know it’s a blogging no-no, editing after posting, but I do it for those little mistakes that would otherwise drive me crazy!

It depends on how distracted I get! And obviously how long the post is. I say the average is like 30 minutes a post. 10-15 on sort things like Song Spotlights or poems that I already have written out. But it takes me one-two hours to write loooong posts, the posts where I’m telling a story or something. Those are usually 1000 or 2000 words long. Yeah, I like rambling.

It varies, but even on long posts, I might spend an hour off and on crafting a post. I like to write it the outline out quickly and then take a break and come back later to see it with fresh eyes.

The thing that amuses me is the effort I put into it. When I started a blog I didn’t treat it as seriously. Now, it’s practically a part of my job.
