Cool Baby, it’s cold outside

This morning, I was thinking that it was warming up – I had heard that it should be sunny – so maybe I would wear a sweater with a fleece over it. Something light and comfortable to keep me warm. Enough with the ice-cold nose and burning (but not because someone is talking about me) ears.

Fortunately, I engaged in one of my new habits: checking the weather online before I leave for work.

In Florida, this wasn’t necessary, unless there was a hurricane that I had somehow not heard about. Whether it was clear or rainy, warm or cold, I just hopped in my garage-parked car, drove to work, and walked from the parking lot to the building. Maximum exposure to the elements: 5 minutes.

Now, I walk a mile to the subway and then half-mile from the subway to work. That’s about 30 minutes outside. This morning’s forecast:

I know this is standard fare for most all of you out there. But for us, it’s like DANG! Floridians aren’t used to seeing that minus sign next to their temperatures.

Now that I’ve blogged about the weather, how much more ‘everyday’ can AWSC? get? The recent episodes of Seinfeld that we’ve seen have been about George and Jerry’s NBC pilot for “a show about nothing.” A blog about nothing just doesn’t have the same zing to it.

Next time: how we waited for a table in a Chinese restaurant for 30 minutes and never got a table. (just kidding)

Oh, I can’t imagine how much of a shock this winter weather is for you guys!

Layer, cover your heads, and don’t breathe too deep when you’re out in the elements!
