Commit to a dream – update

This trip, while costly, has been loads of fun and is a dream coming true, though we have no idea where it’s headed. I need to remember to enjoy the journey, not just focus on a destination.

You all have been so encouraging. We are humbled to hear that all of this may be inspiring someone to take a step that they dread taking. God is working.

In July, I asked readers to publicly announce a commitment to a dream. Well, you know how we’re doing. Let’s see how you’re doing.

Here’s who commented on that post and what their dream was. If you’re still out there, please give us an update. Or let us know if it’s still a dream of yours, or if God has changed gears on you.

Sean – write a novel and non-fiction piece on observations and experiences

Amy – write a book

Shawn – run for public office

Photoqueen – become a book editor in Christian publishing

Christopher – blog more frequently to work on writing

Rachel – huge project involving Kingdom of God, photography, writing, and traveling

New dreamers: feel free to announce that you want to commit to a dream right now, and we’ll check back with you next time!

  1. Sean says:

Sean – Writing a novel or non-fiction piece… Still a dream of mine, but, still on the back burner unfortunately. Kind of mixed up in other dreams as well and trying to pull together the life right now that God wants me to lead.

BTW – You guys still need to let me know when you are making a trip out of NY to see Connecticut a little.

  2. Mary @ Giving Up On Perfect says:

Become an editor: Well, I have an informational interview with a publisher in 2 1/2 weeks. I’ve found an online class that I need to sign up for. And my parents know that someday, we may move their granddaughter 9 hours away to Nashville.

  3. Amy Wright says:

    I’m on it.

  5. Luke Mundy says:

I know I’m totally late on committing to a dream, but I’ve been thinking about it all night… I’ve always wanted to write and record an album, but keep finding excuses as to why I haven’t.

  6. cool dad says:

luke – you gotta do it, man. and these days, it’s easier than ever. i’m sure you can get advice about it from anyone, but if you ever want to talk about it, lemme know!
