Running into people (in a non-violent way)

I’ve mentioned before that a big dream of mine is writing a screenplay. To the praise and glory of God: IT’S DONE!

That is, until a studio picks it up (please, God!) and revises it into a new story with new characters, all happening on Saturn. I won’t go into the details of the script, but it does not take place on Saturn.

I was writing a synopsis of the screenplay, and I noticed that a few plot points involve the main character — let’s call him Rudiger * — running into other characters by chance. They go to the same school or live in the same building, so it’s not completely random. However, I was afraid that Rudiger running into these people, resulting in life-shaping events, was unrealistic.

Well, at this conference, I’ve declined some fun activities to get work done on the laptop. And because I stayed back, I’ve run into several friends, some from across the country. I’ve had encouraging talks with them about where life is going and what God is doing. Just today, I’ve had two such run-ins.

So, I feel a little better about Rudiger’s Run-Ins (good name for a band). Thank God for what seem like coincidences. They work great in movies AND in real life.

* WOW. I can’t believe I found this clip! The Internet is mindboggling.
