“Of course he was crying. He was wearing JORTS!”

The following post is not intended to offend our jorts-wearing readers. I too have been known to wear jorts!

Last week was rough. One evening, Cool Dad was doing yard work while I tried and tried to get Cool Baby to go to sleep. I hadn’t done laundry in a while, so the most comfortable shorts I could find for the baby happened to be made of soft, thin, denim. He cried for about an hour as I rocked him.

Cool Dad’s theory: the boy doesn’t like jorts.

I didn’t even know about the whole jorts thing until I met Cool Dad. Not because he wore them, but because he insisted on not wearing them. Wait a minute…I have seen him wearing them in some old pictures…

Anyways, what are you all’s thoughts on jorts? Are they suitable for boys only up to a certain age? Or are they ever acceptable?

They talk about this on the Relevant podcast. They’re not fans of the jorts. ha ha Here’s how I see it:

Jorts = okay for babies, not for adults.

Poor CB. Maybe he is sensitive to fashion…

CM and I agreed – jorts are OK on girls, depending on the style. Guys unfortunately – no.

I think we just lost 10 cool points, CD!

Had no idea there was so much jort-hate out there. Anyone else have opinions on the matter?

And does something like this count as jorts?
