Our first review of a weekend to assess our current coolness.
FRIDAY
Cool Dad rushed home to do some website work for a side project. Did that for a few hours, even foregoing a normal dinner with the family. We struggled getting the boy to sleep and then discussed techniques to help him sleep better.
Pretty lame for a Friday night. [-15 cool points]
SATURDAY
CM went to a party with friends. CD took the boy out on the town, drawing adoring glances (at the boy) from ladies and curious “huh, that’s like a human, but really little” looks from guys. Dinner at Chick Fil-A.
CM partied with friends with no kids and barely any talk of kids. CD played up the Cool Dad role, even leaving his sweet mesh cap at home. Fried chicken sandwiches and waffles fries are always in style. [+5 cool points]
SUNDAY
Went to church. Cleaned the house. CD miraculously did some yard work and met some friends to watch the Celtics game.
It’s cool to have a clean house. That means having friends over without having to kick poo diapers under the couch when they’re not looking. And I felt like one of those scruffy but cool guys on the beer commercials who hang out to watch sporting events. [+2.5 cool points]
WEEKEND NET CHANGE: -7.5 cool points.
Saturday and Sunday were nice times with friends and waffle fries. However, they couldn’t overcome the uncool Friday night of HTML, CSS, and SOS (needing rescue from an insomniac baby).

You apparently like Chick-fil-A…I personally can never fully like it again since we had one open on my college campus my senior year and I got really, really tired of it (it was a very limited menu…) Sad, I know. But true.

i know what you mean though — it can get old. for some reason, i crave those sandwiches and fries. uh-oh, i think i feel it coming on again.
