The drive to work was eventful, so I thought I’d download thoughts from the car to here.
I ran a red light today. Not a full on red, no one’s coming kind of thing. Just a yellow when I got there, red when I left. God is so merciful. I’ve never gotten a ticket for that. I don’t drive with the intention of speeding through every yellow, but it happens. More than it should.
I thank God a lot for safe driving. Anything can happen, any time. This sounds like a PSA. Basically, I don’t want to have faith in my or CM’s ability as drivers. I only want to have faith in God, so I ask and thank Him for safe travel every day, even if it’s just down the road to Publix.
Leaving the house, the car ahead of me ran over a squirrel. The animal laid there for a second, then started flipping around. I thought about turning around and running over it to put it out of its misery. I decided that would be way gross and someone would probably see it and report me as some squirrel hater.
I used to hate when people merged ahead of me into a turn lane at the last second. Then I did it. I want to be merciful, realizing that everyone has off days where their mind may be elsewhere. I guess my love isn’t unconditional: they at least have to have their turn signal on.
George Carlin said, “Ever notice that anyone driving slower than you is a moron, and anyone driving faster than you is a maniac?” Even out of the most vulgar mouths can come some truth.

that quote is awesome.
It’s so true. I bang my steering wheel when someone’s creeping ahead of me and shake my head in wonder when someone speeds past.
You should spend a few days driving in SoFla. It’ll change your life.
I’ve done some I-95 and turnpiking down there. Miami was a joy for the U2 show a couple of years ago. Rush hour through Atlanta was fun, too.
Wow. This is the best post I have read in a really long time. Thank you for that. -kristiapplesauce
