Baby Baryshnikov

So we have these footie pj’s — a whole stash of them. We got them in a larger size so that Cool Baby could wear them for a while. I realized today that he’s been wearing these same pj’s for about six months. Poor guy. Here’s what finally made us realize that we need to pack these things away:

1. On our just-before-bedtime trip to Chick-fil-a (YES! We’re officially a Christian family now!), I noticed a teeny tiny opening at one of the big toes. Cool Dad says it’s a combination of the boy getting taller and the razor-sharp toenail that he won’t let us trim.

2. When he straightened one of his legs out in front of him, I had a flashback to my ballet class days.

3. “Hmm…did that neckline always dip so low in the back?”

I just can’t bear the idea of cutting off the footies, so it looks like we need to go shopping!

This brought back sooo many memories of my kiddos in their footie-jammies! But I loved it when they got snug on them – they looked so darn cute…and….I was so darn cheap! It’ll hurt…but once you get passed cutting the first one, you’ll be fine =)

Hooray for Target…or, for friends with babies slightly larger than yours?

When our older daughter was 2 or so and we would still put her in the footies when it was cold – she was used to shorts. The first time she saw herself in the footies she said, “ooh! pretty shoes!”

maybe we won’t have to cut the footies off. a few more weeks and his feet will have busted right through.
