More from the sickbed

I dislike the leg ache that keeps me from falling asleep.

I dislike the loss of appetite that keeps me from enjoying eating. I LOVE eating.

But the worst thing about this bout of flu is that I can’t get anywhere near CM and the boy. This household would be in a serious hurt if they got sick, too. So the most interaction I have with them is talking to CM across the dinner table and waving hi at the boy, which he adorably returns.

I wonder what he thinks about all this. “Daddy won’t play with me.” “Daddy is stumbling around the house, making weirder noises than he usually makes.” “Daddy won’t get out of bed, the lazy bum.”

And now the boy has started taking steps, so I’m missing out on that while I lay out of commission. Let this be a valuable lesson to you: Don’t get the flu.
