But then it all turns around again. My kids are 11 and almost 14 (she’d kill me if i said 13) and Hot Dad and I ( can I call him hot dad? I mean, Cool Dad is already taken.) Wait, no. That would be make me Hot Mom…and. well. that’s just wrong.

Anyways, you get some sort of a resemblance to normal discussions back. But just slightly. Instead of snotty noses and red dye #40 your discussion turns to your preteens pit odor, the love letter you “found” in their backpack and hoping they don’t “hear you” in the next room =o

But I’d much rather be talking about my kids while we’re all still young than talking about our hip replacements and med alert bracelets when our kiddos are all grown and gone…

Ha! I imagine that conversation got one-sided pretty quickly. I’m not sure I even remember how I would’ve reacted to such talk before we had our little guy.

Wow….I totally understand how you feel! Me and my husband had some company not too long ago and somehow we ended up on the topic of trying to pick our wee one’s nose so that he wouldn’t make a fuss. The only problem was our friends don’t have any kids yet and they just stared at us. We just cut the conversation short by saying, “One day you’ll understand.”
