Matt has an excellent post about the choice of paying more for an item because of a name brand. He has a great idea about what to do when you face that dilemma. An excerpt from Cool Mum’s comment on Matt’s post:
Another thing to consider is the ethical practices of the company you are buying from. You would need to research which companies are treating their workers fairly and using environmentally friendly practices. There must be a good website for this somewhere…

Ah, name brands. I should do more research as such, it’s just hard when the “better” option is the more expensive one on a pretty tight, post-undergrad budget.
