It turns out there are some doctors who will let you peek at your medical records if you ask nicely. Ever since I saw that Seinfeld episode, I’ve been really curious to see what the docs had to say about me. (Difficult?)
The whole pregnancy/childbirth thing is a blur these days, so I wanted to see what really happened. So I signed a few forms and got a nice “package” in the mail. I highly recommend doing this. I have never been so touched by medical terminology in my entire life.
My favorite part was the last line of the hospital discharge summary:
…had positive flatus and was ambulating.
And that’s all it took for us to take Baby and get the heck outta there. How cool is that?

That experiment would answer so many questions for me! All those things the doctors said that I’ve pieced together in the last few years… Hmm. Good idea.
It will be nice to take control of your own records. This stuff shouldn’t be held secret from you.
When watching a movie, TV, reading, etc – I almost NEVER LOL. I just LOL’d.
