The cool points system

November 24, 2007 |  by cool dad  |  fun and games

To keep track of how cool we are as people who have a baby (parents), we’re going to keep score in the form of ‘cool points’. We’ll award or subtract cool points for things we do, wear, eat, think, whatever. For example:

We like the Florida Gators. [+5 cool points]

Our ‘cool score’ and ranking will be kept in the sidebar. To make sense of it all, here’s our official AWSC? Cool Points Scale:

points ranking
(100+) beyond hope
(75-99) sad
(50-74) lame
(25-49) off
(1-24) slightly lame
0 whatever
1-24 slightly cool
25-49 alright
50-74 cool
75-99 SWEET
100+ rockstars

The parentheses indicate negative numbers. You know, just like in Microsoft Excel. [-10 cool points]

To clarify, because we deem something uncool DOES NOT mean we think it’s wrong. It’s not wrong to flail around with a Boppy on your head to get the baby to stop crying, but it ain’t cool either.

To see how we’ve done so far, check the Cool Score History.

  1. I can’t believe you only gave the Gators 5 points! They totally deserve more than that, making the two of you much cooler than you’re giving yourselves credit for. ;) haha.

    Are you both alumni?
