The nights are getting cool here in North Florida, down to the 40s. We’re cheapskates, so when it was just the two of us, we would just bundle up indoors until it was well below the 30s. Then I would exclaim “I can’t handle this!” and flip on the heat, as if something were preventing me from doing so when it was in the 40s.
I learned online that babies should be lightly dressed for sleep, so fleeces, wool sweaters, and Thinsulate gloves were not an option. Neither are blankets since he is now quite adept with his hands and he could pull them over his head. So, the heat was coming on. But what temperature?
About.com said 68°-72° F is good indoors for infants. We’ve had the heat at 70° the last couple of nights. When we’ve stumbled in to feed/change him in the wee hours (get it, wee?), we’ve found that in a blanket sleeper, his skin is slightly warm to the touch (btw, we got him blue ones). That works for me.
