Baby’s first Black Friday

I took the baby out at 3:00 am to wait with me for a really cheap DVD player. It was 40° out and JUST KIDDING. Sadly, I’m sure we’ll see news stories that begin like this and don’t end well. I was actually awake at 5:30, so I decided to check out Black Friday.

My quarry? Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii, on sale for $35 at Circuit City. That’s a whopping $15 off of the regular $50 price tag. Not worth it for 3:00 am, but 6:00 am wasn’t bad.

At least 150 people were already lined up. I mulled waiting, but common sense got the better of me. So much for the Deal Of The Century.

When I came back, I checked the Circuit City website on a whim. The odds of SMGs being in stock were slim, but there it was! I had no shot of getting one today, so it’ll be nice to have it soon.

Oh, what did we ever do before the Internet? Cope with no instant gratification? *shudder* Those truly were dark days.

Ahh Black Friday. My sisters in law got up at 5 something, but I declined to join considering I’d had a very short night Wednessday due to travel arrangements. Usually my good friend Coty and I would go out traditionally to make fun of the people mobbing the stores and maybe get some sweet deals ourselves. But alas, the day-after-thanksgiving-shopping-extravaganza (or your money back!) tradition was discontinued for us today.

And I see that you upped your cool points meter on my behalf…read the post that went along with it as well. :) Cool points: the gift that keeps on giving.

    Happy holidays, guys!
