I wonder if the Baby Bible has one of my favorite Bible stories, from the Old Testament. It’s one that shows the power of faith in God. You know, in Kings 18, where Elijah challenged the 450 prophets of Baal to get their false god to send fire to light their altar? Meanwhile, Elijah sat back, so faithful in his Lord that he doused his altar in crazy amounts of water. Isn’t that cool? Kids would love that.
And the prophets kept yelling for Baal to send fire and there was never a response. Tee hee. And after the Baal prophets failed, Elijah simply prayed to God and God unleashed a firestorm on Elijah’s altar. That’s awesome!
And after their last-ditch efforts of cutting themselves to wake up Baal, all of the Baal prophets were led into a valley and massacred… well, maybe this isn’t exactly baby material. Still a great story!
